1. Turn the crankshaft until the "C" mark on crankshaft gear (2) is in alignment with the "C" mark on camshaft gear (1).2. Put a mark on the teeth of idler gear and camshaft gear at location (A). The timing of the fuel injection pump will be correct if the gear teeth have marks.3. Remove camshaft bolts (3), the lock and the thrust washer.4. Pull the camshaft out of the cylinder block.5. Remove the bolts from the camshaft gear. Remove the gear from the camshaft.Install Camshaft
The drive gear will fit on the camshaft one way only.1. Put the gear for the camshaft in position on the end of the camshaft. Install the bolts that hold it.2. Put clean engine oil on the bearing journals of the camshaft. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the lobes of the cam.
Typical Example3. Install camshaft (1) in the cylinder block with the timing marks on the camshaft gear, idler gear and the crankshaft gear in alignment.4. Install the thrust washer, the lock and the bolts that hold the camshaft in the cylinder block.5. Check the timing of the engine.
