General Description
The solenoid overrides provide a mechanism that allows a service technician to override a solenoid temporarily. The solenoid overrides are accessed through the electronic technician (ET). Select the following topics from the menu bar of the ET: "Diagnostics", "Diagnostic Tests" and Override Parameters. See the following illustration.

ET screen for the solenoid overridesThe solenoid overrides should be used to detect the physical connection between the ECM and the solenoid. The ECM will send the correct output to the solenoid that is specified. The solenoid should actuate accordingly.For a proportional solenoid, the ECM will allow the ET to override the solenoid with a value between 0 and 100 percent of the maximum output. A value of more than 100 percent is not allowed.For a on/off solenoid, the ECM will allow the ET to override the solenoid with an "Off" value (0 percent). For a on/off solenoid, the ECM will allow the ET to override the solenoid with a 1 or an "On" value (100 percent).The solenoid override will remain while the ET override screen is active. The override will be removed when the ET screen is changed or disconnected.Machine Conditions
The following conditions must be met prior to the activation of the solenoid overrides:
The engine must be off.
Activation of the solenoid override is not allowed if the implement lockout solenoid is shorted to the +battery.
Activation of the solenoid override is not allowed if a diagnostic code on the implement lockout switch is active.
Activation of the solenoid override is not allowed if a failure in the communication between the implement ECM and the engine ECM exists.The solenoid overrides are not available if any of these conditions are not met or the conditions are present.
