When an Avoidance Surface is employed to warn of entry into a hazardous area, ensure that the Surface is sized to include a sufficient safety perimeter around the area of risk. Perimeter size should consider machine size and operating speeds.
Avoidance surfaces are surfaces that the operator must avoid by ensuring that the machine stays either above the surface or else below the surface. All avoidance surfaces that are enabled are displayed with a parallel infill on the Plan window.The avoidance surface can be set as "Above" or "Below" to trigger the Avoidance Zone alarm.Above - Monitored points around the machine pass above the avoidance surfaceBelow - Monitored points around the machine pass below the avoidance surface

The color is used for both the outline and the cross hatch infill of the avoidance surface. The colors in the plan view and in the profile view match. The first four surfaces have default colors. The default colors are (in order) orange, peach, purple, and dark cyan.Note: Avoidance zones can be obscured by as-built surface information.
