There have been a few fan drive (2308065/">230-8065Hsg as.) shaft failures on 315C tracked excavator, due to combination of2308065/">230-8065 fan drive assembly and fan retaining plate assembly. This hasbeen highlighted in a certain machine range.If the fan drive shaft fails please refit withnew assembly 2308065/">230-8065 and new plate 238-5164, please discard original fittedplate 224-6478.AFFECTED PRODUCT

PLEASE REFERENCE RENR-2411 "FAN DRIVE REMOVE AND INSTALL" ON 3054E ENGINESBEFORE STARTING THIS REWORK.
1. Remove the bottom guard from beneath the radiator.Turn the drain tap on the bottom of the radiator carefully with grips anddrain the coolant into a suitable container. The coolant can be re-usedafter the repair.2. Remove the radiator top hose and after-coolerhoses . 3. Remove the top fan guard.4. Loosen the tension and remove the alternatordrive belts.5. Undo and remove the 4 nuts retaining thefan to the pulley hub (13mm socket). Beware - there is a large washer/spacer(224-6478) between the nuts and the fan! Remove the washer/spacer and discardthen remove the fan. 6. Remove the remaining 4 bolts and bottomfan guard. 7. The fan pulley can now be withdrawn fromthe 4 long studs.8. Remove and fit new fan drive assembly 238-8065in accordancewith RENR-2411.9. On
