Start By:a. remove front idlers and recoil springs1. Put the front idler and recoil spring assembly in position on wood blocks as shown. Fasten a hoist to recoil spring assembly (2). Remove the four bolts and four washers that hold the recoil spring assembly to the front idler. Remove recoil spring assembly (2) from front idler (1). Weight of the recoil spring assembly is 52 kg (115 lb). 2. Thoroughly clean the recoil spring assembly prior to disassembly. Check the condition of front support (3), recoil spring (4) and rear support (7). If any of the parts are damaged, use new parts for replacement. 3. Remove only outer nut (5) from the end of the retaining rod.
