Rigging-Moving Jaw Safety
When working in or near the jaw, a safety rigging must be installed to ensure that there is no unintended motion of the moving jaw. Apply rigging with at least 2500 kg (5500 lb) capacity between the moving jaw maintenance eye and rear housing lifting eye (moving jaw safety rigging).
Illustration 1 g06119307Jaw Hub Side Play-Inspect
Open the jaws of the shear, and place the shear heel on the ground.
Turn off the engine and relieve hydraulic pressure.
Do not operate the work tool unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in machine or work tool damage, serious injury or death.
Personal injury or death can result from sudden work tool movement.Sudden movement of the work tool can cause injury to persons near the work tool.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the work tool is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the work tool.
Apply moving jaw safety rigging. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Rigging-Moving jaw safety".
Illustration 2 g06108645
Place a prybar between the moving jaw and the inside of the housing on the cutting side, and push the moving jaw toward the drop side. Look for motion between the jaw and hub.
Illustration 3 g06108646
Place a prybar between the moving jaw and the inside of the housing on the drop side, and push the moving jaw toward the cutting side. Look for motion between the jaw and hub.
If any visible movement is seen between the moving jaw and hub, the hub needs to be tightened.Jaw Hub Side Play-Tighten
Illustration 4 g06116771
Remove the hub cover on the drop side of the hub.
Illustration 5 g06116773
Loosen the two bolts on the locking plate of the hub pin 2-3 full turns such that the bolt heads protrude above the surface.
Reinstall the hub cover. Tighten the 4-bolts evenly, allowing it to push on the locking plate bolt heads, which pushes the hub pin toward the cutting side. Do not exceed 240 N m (177 lb ft) while tightening the 4 bolts.
Illustration 6 g06117925
Remove the two locking bolts in the hub nut. Tighten the hub nut with a 1 inch drive to 700 75 N m (516 55 lb ft), then turn clockwise to align the next bolt hole and reinstall the two locking bolts. Tighten the two locking bolts to 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft)

(2) Hub Nut
Remove the hub cover.
Tighten the two bolts on the locking plate of the hub pin to 460 60 N m (340 44 lb ft).
Reinstall the hub cover and tighten to 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft)
Perform the blade rotation / replacement and piercing tip replacement.
