Calibration Procedure
Move the machine away from other operating machines and away from personnel. Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Lower the work tool to the ground. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.

Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) service connector
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to the machine at the service connector. The connector is located in the rear of the cab to the right of the operator's station.Reference: For additional information on use of the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET), refer to Troubleshooting and Testing and Adjusting, "Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician to Determine Diagnostic Codes" for the machine that is being serviced.
Start the engine.
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to your laptop computer. Open the software program for the ET.

Select "Implement 824H", "Implement 825H", or "Implement 826H" from the "ECM Selector" screen. Click on the "OK" button.

Select "Service" menu at the top of the ET screen. Select "Calibrations" from the "Service" menu. Select "Implement Valve Solenoid Manual Calibration" from the "Calibrations" menu.

The screen will display all the implement valves that are available on the machine. The ET software defaults so that all the valves will be selected for calibration. Select the check mark button next to an individual joystick movement in order to remove a joystick movement from the calibration procedure. Once you have selected the joystick controls to calibrate, select the "Begin" button. The screen will change in order to display step-by-step instructions for calibrating the implement valve solenoids.

The ET screen will be divided into three display areas. The top section of the screen will be used to display important status parameters that are monitored during the calibration. The middle section of the screen displays the information about the calibration procedure. The bottom section of the screen displays the step-by-step instructions for the calibration. The step that currently needs to be performed will be in bold text. All other steps will be displayed in gray text.
Select the "Next" button in order to begin the calibration. A checked mark box will be placed to the left of a completed step and the next step will be highlighted in bold text. After successful completion of a step, select the "Next" button in order to begin the next step. Follow the steps that are listed in the bottom section of the screen until the calibration procedure is complete.Note: The middle section of the screen will display a message that will inform you of the status of the calibration.
Continue to follow the instructions that are listed on the screen until the calibration is completed.
The ET will display a status screen when the calibration is complete or when you select the "Cancel" button. The status screen will inform you if the calibration is successful. The Implement ECM will store the new calibration data only when the calibration is successful.
Select the "Restart" button in order to repeat the calibration or select another menu option in order to exit from the calibration screen.
Continue to the next calibration
