PLATE-WARNING 5P1338 - Caterpillar

The console must be in the "Back" position.1. Remove six truss screws (1) and two plates (3) from channel assembly (2). 2. Loosen nut (4) from retainer (5). Remove bolt (6) and the washer from channel assembly (2).
The console cylinder is charged under pressure with nitrogen. During removal care must taken or personnel injury could occur.
The lever must be in the down position.3. Remove cylinder (7) from retainer (5). 4. Remove cotter (8), pin (9), bracket (10), nut (12), and spacer (11) from cylinder (7). The following steps are for the installation of the console cylinder.5. Install spacer (11), nut (12), bracket (10), pin (9), and cotter (8) to cylinder (7). Before installation the console must be in the back position. The lever must also be in the down position.
The cylinder is charged under pressure with nitrogen. If released prior to installation personnel injury could occur.
Once cylinder releases do not tighten any further.6. Install cylinder (7) to retainer (5) until cylinder releases. Release the lever and tighten nut (4) against retainer (5).7. Install the washer and nut (6) to channel assembly (2). Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 47 N m (35 lb ft).8. Install two plates (3) and six truss screws (1) to channel assembly (2).
