Cab fresh air filter components (exploded view)
(1) Filter element cover
(2) Filter element
(3) Air tube adapter
Grasp filter element cover (1) by hand, and loosen the filter element cover by turning counterclockwise. Lift the filter element cover off the filter element. The filter element cover is in front of the front window of the cab above the engine hood enclosure.
Carefully lift filter element (2) from air tube adapter (3).
The filter element can be cleaned by using pressure air. Use a maximum air pressure of 205 kPa (30 psi). Direct the air from the clean side to the dirty side.
Look through the filter toward a bright light. Inspect the element for damage. Inspect the gaskets for damage. Replace damaged filters.
Clean the inside of the filter element cover.
Install the filter element on the air tube adapter.
Install the filter element cover over the filter element and carefully tighten by hand. Note: New O-ring seals are included with a new filter element and should be used when replacing the old filter element with a new filter element.Note: Clean the filters more often in dusty conditions.
