There are no calibration or adjustment procedures for any of the components that are used in the electric drive system. The following calibrations are for the electrical components in the steering system and the braking system.Calibration of a component in the steering or braking systems will allow the Machine ECM to determine the correct output level for solenoids and will allow the ECM to determine the correct input signal range for position sensors.The solenoids and position sensors that are under the control of the Machine ECM that can be calibrated using the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) or the Monitoring System LCD Display are listed.Speed Direction Handle (Tiller) Calibration - CID's 1471, 1472, 1473 - The calibration procedure will improve the accuracy of the ECM to match the direction handle position sensor signal input with the correct current output to the steer solenoids in order to improve the performance of the steering system. The calibration should be performed when an FMI 13 condition is active for one or more of the listed CID codes.Service Brake Calibration (Travel Control Pedal) - CID 2305 - The calibration procedure sets the travel control pedal position sensor signal to 100 percent at the fully depressed position. The service brake dump solenoid output will be turned ON by the ECM at this pedal position. The calibration procedure should be performed when an FMI 13 condition is active for the position sensor, when service brake engagement does not occur when the pedal is in the fully depressed position, or when ever the travel control pedal position sensor is replaced. Running this calibration is a good first step for troubleshooting a CID 2595 FMI 03 or 04. Brake Touch Up Calibration - The calibration should be performed when the operation of the brakes is not smooth.Steering Pump Solenoids Calibration - CID's 0726, 0727 - The calibration procedure will improve the ability of the ECM to output the correct current output to the steer solenoids based on the direction handle position sensor signal input. The calibration should be performed when the steering operation is not smooth or if the machine does not do a pivot turn when traveling less than 3 mph.FMI 13 condition is active for one or more of the listed CID codes.Note: All calibrations for the Machine ECM System will be performed with the "Machine ECM" selected as the control module.To access the calibration procedures for the Machine ECM, establish the Cat ET connection to the Machine ECM. Navigate to the calibration procedures by clicking "Service", then "Calibrations". Click on the calibration that is to be performed.To access the calibration procedures using the Monitoring System LCD Display, from the main menu, select "Service", "Calibrations". a service password is required to access the available calibration procedures. The Cat ET Display or the Monitoring System LCD Display will list the initial machine conditions that must be satisfied before the ECM will allow the calibration procedure to continue.
