Installation Procedure
Ensure that the turbocharger is clean and free from damage. Inspect the turbocharger for wear. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Turbocharger - Inspect" for more information. If the turbocharger is worn, the complete turbocharger must be replaced.
Test the turbocharger actuator for correct operation. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Wastegate - Test" for more information. If the actuator is damaged or the actuator does not operate within the specified limits, the complete turbocharger must be replaced.

Clean the gasket surface of the exhaust manifold and the gasket surface of turbocharger (8).
If necessary, install the studs from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
If necessary, Install studs (22) to turbocharger (8). Tighten the studs to a torque of 25 N m (221 lb in).
Position a new gasket (20) (not shown) onto the exhaust manifold.
Install turbocharger (8) to the exhaust manifold. Note: Do not use the actuator rod to lift the turbocharger.
Install nuts (19) to turbocharger (8). Support the weight of the turbocharger as the nuts are installed.
Tighten nuts (19) to a torque of 25 N m (221 lb in).
Ensure that tube assembly (26) is free from restriction and damage.
Install a new gasket (24) (not shown) onto tube assembly (26).
Position tube assembly (26) onto turbocharger (8). Install bolts (25) finger tight.
Position a new gasket (27) (not shown) between tube assembly (26) and the cylinder block. Install bolts (28) finger tight.
Tighten bolts (25) and bolts (28) to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).
Lubricate the bearings of turbocharger (8) with clean engine oil through the oil inlet port. Rotate the shaft of the turbocharger in order to distribute the lubricant.
Install a new sealing washer (23) (not shown) onto banjo bolt (21).
Install banjo bolt (21) to tube assembly (18). Install the remaining new sealing washer (23) (not shown) between tube assembly (18) and turbocharger (8).
Tighten banjo bolt (21) to a torque of 18 N m (159 lb in).
Tighten nut (17) for clip (16) to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in).

Clean the gasket surfaces of elbow (13), turbocharger (8), and Aftertreatment Regeneration Device (ARD) (15) (not shown).
Position a new gasket (10) (not shown) onto Aftertreatment Regeneration Device (ARD) (15) (not shown).
Install elbow (13) onto Aftertreatment Regeneration Device (ARD) (15) (not shown). Install bolts (12) and nuts (9) finger tight.
Position a new gasket (11) (not shown) between elbow (13) and turbocharger (8). Install bolts (12) finger tight.
Tighten bolts (12), bolts (14), and nuts (9) to a torque of 25 N m (221 lb in).
