A     138-7575     Link Bracket     4    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the fuel tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities".

Remove guards (1) and (2) .

Close fuel shutoff valve (3) .
Disconnect hose assembly (4) .

Remove bolts (6) and platform (5) .

Disconnect hose assembly (8) and harness assembly (7) .
Remove clip (10) .
Remove bolts (9) and step (11) .

Remove bolts (17) and sight gauge (18) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to fuel tank (19). The weight of fuel tank (19) is approximately 408 kg (900 lb).
Remove bolts (20) from both sides.
Use the suitable lifting device to remove fuel tank (19) .
