PLATE 6T1232 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the bolts that hold valve group (2) to pump (1), and remove the valve. 2. Remove lockwire (3) and plug (4) from the valve. 3. Remove gasket (8) from the valve.4. Remove O-ring seal (10) and back-up ring (7) from the plug.5. Remove spring (6), seat (9) and spool (5) from the valve. 6. Remove plug (15) from valve (2). Remove the O-ring seal from the plug.7. Remove screw (13), pin (12), spring (16), seat (11) and spool (14) from the valve. 8. Remove the six bolts that hold valve block (17) to pump (1), and remove the valve block. 9. Remove piston (19) and wafer plate (18) from valve block (17). 10. Remove O-ring seal (20) from rod (22). Remove retaining ring (21), and remove the rod from the valve block. 11. Use tooling (A), and remove cup (23) from the valve block.12. If necessary, remove pin (24) from the valve block. 13. Remove gasket (25) from pump (1).14. Remove bearing (26) from the shaft. 15. Remove spacer (29) and cylinder block (27) from shaft (28). 16. Remove nine pistons (30) and plate (31) from cylinder block (27). 17. Remove spherical washer (32) from the cylinder block. 18. Remove retainer (33) and three pins (34) from the cylinder block. 19. Use a press and a 4B5273 1/2" Washer (35) to compress the spring, and remove retaining ring (36) with tool (B).20. Release the tension on the spring. 21. Remove washer (38), spring (39) and washer (37) from cylinder block (27). 22. Remove two covers (41) from housing (40). 23. Remove O-ring (42) and back up ring (43) from both sides of the housing.24. Remove cup (45) and cone (44) from both sides of the housing.25. Remove yoke (46) from housing (40). 26. Remove seat (47) and spring (48) from the housing. Remove shaft (28). 27. Use a press and tool (C) to remove cone (49) from shaft (28). 28. Remove retaining ring (50) with tool (B), and remove seal (51).29. If necessary, remove cup (52) located behind seal (51) with tooling (A).Assemble Hydraulic Oil Pump (Hoist & Suspension)
1. Clean and inspect all parts. Replace all parts that are damaged or worn. Put clean oil on all of the internal parts of the pump. Replace all O-ring seals, gaskets and shaft seals. 2. If cup (2) was removed from the housing, use tool (A) to install the cup in housing (1). 3. Install seal (3) with tool (A), and install retaining ring (4) with tool (B). 4. Use a press and a pipe (1" I.D. x 1 3/8" O.D. x 2 1/2" long) (7) to install cone (6) on shaft (5). Put tape around the splines on shaft (5) to avoid damaging the shaft seal when the shaft is installed.5. Put shaft (5) in position in housing (1).6. Install spring (9) and seat (8) in the housing. 7. Install pin (12) and seat (11) on yoke (10). 8. Put yoke (10) in position in housing (1).
