Pivot assembly on the main crossbeam for the chassisView B-B (3) Pad assembly (4) Shim (5) Pivot assembly (6) PedestalNote: Remove all shims (4) and pad assemblies (3) from pivot assembly (5) before installing pad assemblies (1) to the truck body.
Raise the truck body or lower the truck body so that the body rails are parallel to the frame rails.
Position the ten pad assemblies (1) for the body on the two frame rails of the chassis in the corresponding contact areas. Five pad assemblies (1) are located on each frame rail of the chassis. Do not use shims (2) at this time.
Slowly lower the body of the truck onto the pad assemblies (1). Determine the highest pad assembly (1) on the frame rail on each side. Raise the truck body and then remove the four lowest pad assemblies (1) from the frame rail on each side.
Slowly lower the body of the truck onto the two remaining pad assemblies (1) .
Observe the two remaining pad assemblies (1) and determine the pad assembly that has full contact with the rail of the body first. This pad assembly (1) will establish the Body Down Position.
Raise the truck body and install pad assembly (1), that was chosen in Step 5, onto the rail of the body.Note: Do not use any shims on the installation of the first pad assembly (1) .
Install the remaining nine pad assemblies (1) to the rails of the body and use the necessary shims (2) in order to raise the remaining nine pad assemblies (1) to the height of the Body Down Position.
Wipe off the frame rails of the chassis.
Apply paint to the frame rails of the chassis at the point of contact with pad assemblies (1) .
