Hydraulic oil does not flow through the system.     Replace the restriction orifices (90 degree fitting) in the hydraulic plumbing for the raise and lower.    
The depth adjustment is set in the wrong position.     Readjust the depth adjustment.    The implement is continually settling

Faulty valve for the depth adjustment     The valve for the depth adjustment is leaking hydraulic oil.
Replace the seal for the poppet valve.    
Faulty hydraulic cylinder is leaking or drifting.     Replace the hydraulic cylinder or repair the hydraulic cylinder.    Tracks are left after the implement.

Compaction of soil     Remove excess weight from the tractor.    
Add additional shanks in line with the tracks.
Install extenders on the shanks in order to fracture deeper compaction in the tracks. Evaluation of the Hydraulic Cylinders on the Disc Gangs
Note: Typically, the cause of hydraulic cylinder failure is contamination of hydraulic oil.Use the following procedure to evaluate the hydraulic cylinders for the disc gangs:
Cycle the cylinders several times. Hold the implement control lever in order to raise the cylinders. Make sure that the air is bled from the system.
Raise the disc gangs and lower the implement until the sweeps are at a tillage depth.
Lower the disc gangs and compress the springs on the cylinders approximately 38.10 mm (1.5 inch).
Wait for a change in the compression of the springs.
Use the results from step 4 and the table below in order to determine a probable cause for your problem:All cylinders are retracting or extending at the same rate.

One or more cylinders drift while other cylinders hold the springs compressed.     One or more disc gangs change depth and are repeatedly out-of-phase with the other disc gangs.     Hydraulic oil is bypassing the piston in the hydraulic cylinders that are drifting.     Replace the hydraulic cylinders that are faulty.
