Perform the following procedure to install the Multifunction Lever Harness As:
Position the steering column into the full UPRIGHT position after installing the multifunction lever, and before clipping the harness.

3S-2093 Cable Strap securing Harness As to upper steering column (1) 3S-2093 Cable Strap (2) Loop
Route the Harness As to the center of the steering column with a small loop (2), and firmly secure with a 3S-2093 Cable Strap (1). Refer to Illustration 1.
Route the Harness As down behind the guard and through the grommet. Leave a small amount of slack in the Harness As.

Secure the Harness As to the guard above the grommet with a 3S-2093 Cable Strap (1). Refer to Illustration 2.
Fold any excess Harness As that accumulates under the column bracket into loops, and secure with 3S-2093 Cable Strap (1) .Note: Now the Harness As should be secured in two places, on the upper steering column, and the lower guard.
Remove the excess ends of the 3S-2093 Cable Straps (1) .
Test the full range of the steering column motion to insure that the Harness As is not being pulled taunt or restricting the movement of the steering column.
Install the covers on the steering column.The improved installation procedure is adaptable to and is effective with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 2.
