If you determine that shims need to be installed, remove the pin assembly (18). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Cylinder - Remove".
Install the required shims. The shims are located at the pin bores between the boom cylinder and the frame on the same side as retaining bolt for the pin assembly (18) as shown in Illustration 2.
Fasten Tool (A) to pin assembly (19).
Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on pin assembly (19).
Position the spacer on the frame in the original location.
Use a hammer in order to drive pin assembly (19) through the bores at the pin joint for the frame and the cylinder.
Remove Tool (A) from pin assembly (19).
Install the washer and the retaining bolt for the pin assembly (18).
Tighten the retaining bolt for the pin assembly (18) to a torque of 460 60 N m (339 44 lb ft). Do not remove the hoist from the right hand boom cylinder at this time.

Install bracket (16) and bolts (12). Do not tighten bolts (12) yet.
Install bolts and clamps (17). Do not tighten the bolts yet.

Replace O-ring seals on the boom lowering control valve.
Position boom lowering control valve (10) on the boom cylinder and install socket head screws (11).
Tighten bracket bolts (12) and clamp bolts (17).
Replace the O-ring seals in hose assemblies (13), (14) and (15).
Connect hose assemblies (13), (14) and (15) to the boom cylinder.
Connect hose assemblies (4) to the boom lowering control valve.
Replace O-ring seals in tube assemblies (6) and (7).
Connect tube assemblies (6) and (7) to the boom lowering control valve.
Repeat 1 through 30 in order to install the left boom cylinder.

Fasten Tool (A), lifting straps and a hoist to the support pin for the boom.
Apply 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease to the support pin for the boom.
Partially install the support pin for the boom in the left side of the boom.
Remove the hoist and the lifting straps from the support pin.
Use a hammer to drive the support pin in the boom until the right side of the support pin is even with the outside surface of the boom.
Fasten a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to the rod end of the right boom cylinder.
Raise the right boom cylinder until the pin bore in the rod is in alignment with the pin bore in
