Flow Control Settings for the Pivot Cylinder and the Boom Cylinders for the Mower
Before you operate the mower, the flow of hydraulic oil needs to be correctly set for the pivot cylinder and the boom cylinders for the mower. The flow is controlled via a needle valve at the rod end of each cylinder except for the pivot cylinder. The pivot cylinder use a needle valve on both the rod end and the head end of the cylinder.Note: It is important to correctly set the flow control at each cylinder in order to maintain a safe travel speed for the cylinder. The needle valves can be adjusted to the preference of the operator. Open the needle valve in order to increase the flow of oil. Close the needle valve in order to reduce the flow of oil. The settings in the following steps are recommended in order to obtain the following.

Refer to illustration 181. To set the needle valve (178) on the rod end of the pivot cylinder, close the needle valve. Then, open the needle valve for four turns from the closed position.

Install one 5029 Mower Restraint Warning Film (184) to the outside of the lift arms on the left hand side of the machine and on the right hand side of the machine.Refer to illustration 190. If the mower is removed from the machine, the 223-2181 Bracket As and the 223-2180 Bracket As (185) must be removed before the loader linkage can be fully lowered. The brackets are part of the linkage restraint system for the mower.Failure to remove the brackets will damage the loader lift cylinders.Important Information
