Brushless SR-4 GeneratorsThe main output leads (wires) on generators are in a loose condition when the generator is sent from the factory. These leads must be separated and put in the correct position during installation of the generator by the serviceman. After installation of the leads, the serviceman must make sure these leads are held in place so they do not move against the frame. Movement against the frame can wear away the insulation on the leads. This can cause an electrical short and damage the generator leads.
If desired rubber hose can be put around the opening in the frame to prevent this problem. Make sure there is no metal reinforcement in the hose.
