Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode.Do not smoke when observing the battery electrolyte levels.Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts skin or eyes.Always wear protective glasses when working with batteries.
1. Unlatch and raise battery compartment cover. 2. Clean top of batteries. Maintain electrolyte level to bottom of filler opening.3. Keep terminals clean and coated with petroleum jelly.4. At proper charging rate batteries should not require more than 30 cc (1 ounce) of water per cell per week.5. Install all filler caps.6. Lower cover and lock battery compartment.(12)Hydraulic System
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
1. Observe oil level when machine is level, implements lowered and parking brake applied.2. Turn power switch to the ON position. 3. The low hydraulic oil level indicator will come ON when the oil level is at the ADD COLD mark in the sight gauge. Do not start the engine.4. Add oil if necessary.5. Turn power switch to the OFF position. The low hydraulic oil level indicator will not function while the engine is running. STARTING LEVEL: With oil cold and engine not running, oil level must be on the FULL COLD mark or completely fill the sight gauge.
