Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting".
Prepare the auger for a stall.In order to prepare the auger for a stall, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Auger - Stall".

(1) Pressure tap (2) Pressure tap
Install a 60000 kPa (8700 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (2) .
Install a 6V-3014 Hose Assembly to pressure tap (1). On the other end of the 6V-3014 Hose Assembly, connect a 60000 kPa (8700 psi) pressure gauge.
Run the engine at low idle. Hold the 6V-3014 Hose Assembly in one hand.

(3) Auger control
Turn auger control (3) to the ON position.
In the stalled position, damage to the auger or damage to the auger hydraulic system can occur if the auger is operated for more than 10 seconds. Do not operate the auger continuously for more than 10 seconds when the auger is locked in the stalled position.
Observe the pressure gauge at pressure tap (2). The reading on the pressure gauge will rise.Note: Before you make any adjustments, practice several times watching the pressure gauge and feeling the hose. The hose should get rigid in your hand. This will ensure that the shift point is set correctly.
When the pressure gauge at pressure tap (2) reads 24100 kPa (3500 psi), the hose in your hand should become rigid. When the hose gets rigid, the piston motor is shifting to the maximum angle.

(4) Adjustment screw for the shift point of the piston motor
If the hose becomes rigid at a lower pressure or at a higher pressure, adjust the shift point for the piston motor. Turning adjustment screw (4) clockwise decreases the shift point. Turning adjustment screw (4) counterclockwise increases the shift point.Note: Adjustment screw (4) must start in the middle of the length of travel. If adjustment screw (4) is at an extreme end of travel, adjusting the screw will give false results.
The shift point is critical to the performance of the auger. As material fills the scraper bowl the material starts resisting the auger from turning. Then, the piston motor shifts to low speed and high torque. This will allow the upper part of the scraper bowl to be filled with material. If the material is loose the auger may not shift into low speed and high torque.
