Measuring the Blade
To complete a measure-up for the pitch of the blade, complete these steps:
Select Grade Control mode on the control keypad.
Turn off the park brake and implement a lockout.

Control Lever
(1) Auto/manual switch: secondary function - increment
(2) Cycle switch: secondary function - decrement
(3) Trigger to enable secondary increment and decrement functions
Press the cycle switch (2) on the control lever.
Perform measure-up and enter data into the system. Locking into Single Tilt
The on-board software limits blade pitch functions to single tilt whenever the operator selects one of the following modes on the control keypad:
Grade Control
Grade ProtectionThe on-board software does not limit blade pitch functions to single tilt when using Rough Grade Control.Maintaining Proper Blade Pitch
Reset the pitch of the blade regularly to maintain proper blade pitch using one of the following methods:
Before starting work
During a dozing cycleBefore Starting Work
Before starting work, complete the following steps to reset the pitch of the blade:
Select Grade Control mode, Grade Protection mode, or Rough Grade Control mode using the control keypad.
Depress the service brake to prepare to release the park brake.
Release the park brake in order to release the lock which had previously prevented movement of the blade.
Take the implement lockout off to ensure that the hydraulic system can operate.
Raise the blade off the ground to ensure the cutting edge is clear of the ground when the software starts adjusting the pitch of the blade.
Press the auto/manual switch (1) to reset the pitch of the blade. For Grade Control and Grade Protection modes this action also limits blade pitch functions to single tilt.Note: Using the auto/manual switch to reset the pitch of the blade is only available after changing operating mode.While Working
With the blade lifted, press the cycle switch (2) at any stage to reset the pitch of the blade. Within a dozing cycle, complete the following steps:
Shift into forward gear.
Lower the blade to the design elevation.
Perform a pass.
Lift the blade higher than the design elevation.
Shift into reverse gear.
If needed, reset the blade pitch with the cycle switch (2). Note: Use the cycle switch (2) while working. Note: Using the auto/manual switch to reset the pitch of the blade is only available after changing operating mode.
Repeat the dozing cycle. Alternatively, stop and follow the instructions in "Before Starting Work" to reset blade pitch at the same time as changing blade control mode.Canceling a Reset
