Manual Brake Release With Hand Pump for CC34B
To release the parking brake manually on the CC24B, perform the following procedure:
In order to prevent the machine from moving, block the drum and block the tires securely.

In order to hold the front frame and the rear frame rigid, install the steering frame lock into the LOCKED position. Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock" for further information.
Open the engine compartment.
Ensure that the propel lever is in the neutral position. If the propel lever is not in the neutral position, the hand pump will not build pressure.

Close needle valve (1). The setscrew in the knob of the needle valve must be released in order to open the needle valve.
Pump the hand pump (2) until the pump (2) will no longer pump. Approximately five to seven full strokes of the pump will be required. The brakes are now released.
In order to engage the brakes, open needle valve (1). Manual Brake Release for CB34B, CB34B XW, and CB36B
In order to prevent the machine from moving, block the drum and block the tires securely.

Open the engine compartment.

Remove the rubber plugs (3) that are located in the center of the propel motors. The rubber plugs (3) may be covered with paint. The propel motors are located on the front left and right rear drum supports.
Consult your Cat dealer for the bars and bolts that are required to release the parking brake manually.
Bolt one of the brake release bars to each of the propel motors. Thread the bolt into the propel motor until the bolt stops.
Tighten the nut on the bolt until there is tension on the nut.
The brakes are now released. Reverse the procedure in order to engage the brakes.
