Grind the crack into a groove that is approximately 5 mm (0.2 inch) wide.

Use access hole (C) in the skirt plate in order to locate plate (1) on the frame.
Locate plate (1) from the hole of the vertical plate on the inside of the skirt. Weld plate (1) to the frame. Refer to Illustration 8.

Groove And Hole For The Prop Rod
Weld the 5 mm (0.2 inch) groove that was created in Step 3. Weld the hole in the frame that is used for the prop rod. Refer to Illustration 11. Grind the weld flush with the skirt plate.

Place one end of the prop rod in hole (C). Put plate (3) on the opposite end of the prop rod. Swing the prop rod and locate the correct position for plate (3). Remove the prop rod and weld plate (3) in the location that is shown in Illustration 12.
Paint the welded areas.Repair Of The Cracked Welds In The Main Frame
Cracked welds may be present on cab support in the main frame. Use the information that follows for the repair weld of the cracked welds. Refer to the information for "Welding Requirements", "Preparing the Metal for Welding", and "Preparing the Machine for Servicing" that is listed in this article.

Inspect the area that is shown in the illustrations for cracked welds.
Gouge out the cracked weld. Make sure
