The driveshafts are under drive line windup pressure. You must release drive line windup pressure in all driveshafts before preforming any work on any driveshafts. To prevent possible injury or death, release the drive line windup pressure by raising all the wheels on one side of machine and then placing the wheels back on the ground. This will allow the drive line windup pressure to release.
1. Remove four bolts (1). Reposition mid-bearing to rear axle drive shaft (2). 2. Remove four bolts (3) from mid bearing yoke (4).3. Use two individuals to remove the mid bearing to rear axle drive shaft (5). The drive shaft weighs 27 kg (60 lb). For installation of the drive shaft (mid bearing to rear axle), reverse the removal steps.
