(Left Side View Of Typical Exhaust Manifold Group) Location of new 130-5274 Sleeves (1) and 127-8269 Seals (2).A new sleeve and seal are used in the exhaust manifold groups on the engines in these trucks. The new sleeve and seal are used to connect the exhaust manifold sections. Two new sleeves and one new seal are used instead of each former sleeve. The illustration shows the orientation of the new sleeves and seal. The seal helps prevent exhaust gas leaks but allows the manifold sections to move as the manifold sections heat up and cool down. The new sleeve and seal will allow some relative movement between the exhaust manifold sections to help reduce the shearing forces on the bolts that fasten the exhaust manifold sections to the cylinder heads. This will help prevent these bolts from breaking.
Adaptable To: The new 130-5274 Sleeves and 127-8269 Seals replace the former 1W-5499 Sleeves in the 121-5731 and 107-8720 Exhaust Manifold Groups. The chart identifies the effectivity of the new components. Ten new 130-5274 Sleeves, one new 133-5916 Elbow Support Sleeve, one new 133-5917 Elbow Support Sleeve, and six new 127-8269 Seals are used in the 121-5731 Exhaust Manifold Group on 777D Trucks and 776D Tractors.
Eight new 130-5274 Sleeves and four new 127-8269 Seals used in the 9Y-8910 Exhaust Manifold Group on 793C Trucks.
The new exhaust manifold components, when used together, are adaptable to the engines in all earlier 776D Tractors and 777D, 793C Trucks.
