Ensure that all components are free of contaminants before installing. Contaminants may cause premature wear and reduced component service life.
Remove DOC cover insulation assembly.

Remove bolts and upper backing strip. Remove DOC cover assembly and gasket. Note: Do not reuse gasket.

Loosen band clamp assembly (1) and remove.
Remove bolts (2) and upper retainer assembly. Note: Different catalyst part numbers are used. To ensure correct reassembly, note the location from which each catalyst is removed.
Carefully lift DOC catalyst assembly (3) out of the lower retaining assembly.
If necessary, repeat for other DOC catalysts.
Carefully lower DOC catalyst into the lower retainer and ensure that the catalyst is flush against the wall for proper sealing. Verify correct position.
Install top catalyst retainer onto the DOC.
Install all retainer bolts. Do not tighten the bolts.
Install band clamps. Tighten to 10 1 N m (7.4 .7 lb ft).
Apply final torque to retainer bolts. Refer to Specifications, SENR3130, "Torque Specifications" for the proper torque.
To install the DOC catalyst cover, replace all inner backing strips below the flange of the CEM and align all bolt holes.
Install a new gasket.
Install DOC cover assembly.
Replace all outer backing strips.
Replace all bolts.
Apply final torque to all bolts in a circular pattern. Refer to Specifications, SENR3130, "Torque Specifications" for the proper torque.
Verify that all bolts are at the proper torque value.
