The 234-8776 Oil Shield is used in applications that operate under the following types of conditions:
Cold ambient temperatures
Long periods of operation at low idleThe 234-8776 Oil Shield helps prevent oil that drips from the 197-7063 Rotocoil Assembly from reaching the valve stem. This helps prevent the the valve from becoming seized. The 234-8776 Oil Shield must be installed correctly.The 234-8776 Oil Shield has an external ridge on the outside diameter of the small end. The ridge allows for a snap fit into the bottom inside diameter of the 197-7063 Rotocoil Assembly. Install the oil shield onto the rotocoil prior to installation of the rotocoil assembly onto the valve stem. Refer to Illustration 1.
