1. Remove bolts (1) and yokes (2) that hold pin (3) in place in the steering links and the steering cylinder rod. 2. Install a 3/4"-10 NC forged eyebolt (4) in pin (3). Fasten a hoist to the eyebolt. Remove pin (3) that connects the steering cylinder rod to the steering links. 3. Remove nuts (6) to disconnect servo steering cylinder (5). 4. Remove bolts (8) and yokes (7) that hold pin (9) in place in the steering link and the bracket assembly. 5. Fasten nylon straps (10) and a hoist on steering link (11). Remove pin (9) and steering link (11) from the bracket assembly. The weight of the steering link is 118 kg (260 lb.). 6. Remove seals (12), bearings (13) and the spacer from the bracket assembly. 7. Remove bolts (15) and move bracket (14) to the side so retainer (16) can be removed.8. Remove retainer (16) from the gooseneck. 9. Fasten nylon strap (18) and a hoist on steering link (19) as shown.10. Remove pin (17) and steering link (19) from the gooseneck. The weight of the steering link is 57 kg (125 lb.). 11. Remove bearings (20) from the gooseneck. 12. Remove seals (21) and bearings (22) from steering link (19). 13. Remove seals (25), bearings (23) and spacer (24) from steering link (19).Install Steering Links And Bearings
1. Lower the temperature of the bearings.2. Use tooling (A) to install the bearings in the middle of the bearing bores of steering link (1). 3. Use tool group (B) to install four seals (2) in steering link (1). Install the seals with the lips away from the bearings as shown. Put clean grease on the lips of the seals. 4. Lower the temperature of the spacer and the bearings.5. Use tooling (A) to install the bearing, spacer and bearing in the middle of the bearing bore of steering link (1). Make sure there is an equal amount of spacer in each side of the bearing bore after the bearings have been installed. 6. Use tool group (B)
