1. Throttle Lever - sets engine speed.2. Tachometer - shows engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm). High idle should be 2600 rpm.
MAINTAIN AT LEAST 2400 RPM WHILE OPERATING THE MACHINE. IF THE CUTTER LOAD LUGS THE ENGINE DOWN, REDUCE THE TRAVEL SPEED. SEE PAGE 4-1 FOR EXPLANATION.
3. Ignition Switch - turns electrical power to the machine "On" or "Off".4. Start Switch - energizes the starter when moved forward.5. Engine Oil Pressure Gauge - shows engine oil pressure. Normal operating pressure at high idle (2600 rpm) is 30 to 80 psi (206 to 552 kPa).6. Engine Water Temperature Gauge - shows engine coolant temperature. Minimum temperature is 165°F (74°C).7. Voltmeter - shows voltage in the electrical system: battery voltage (12 volts) if the engine is not running or the charging system is not working, alternator regulated output voltage (14 volts) if the charging system is functioning. 8. Hour Meter (mounted on the engine) - records the total length of time that the engine has run.
