Raise the work tool from the ground.
Note the starting position of the work tool and rotate the work tool in one direction. Record the number of rotations that are completed in one minute.
The work tool should complete 16 revolutions per minute (rpm). The work tool must reach the specification in both directions.
If the rpm is within the specification, the work tool is rotating properly. If the rpm is not within the specification, check the oil flow and the oil pressure of the host machine. Refer to the Service Manual, "Host Machine Pressure and Flow - Test". The oil flow to the rotator must be a maximum of 20 L/min (5.3 US gpm). The maximum oil pressure to the rotator must be 32000 kPa (4641 psi).
If an adjustment was made to the host machine, repeat the check. If an adjustment for the host machine was not necessary, proceed to the next step.
If the rpm is not within the specification, check the oil flow of the hydraulic rotator. Refer to Service Manual, "Hydraulic Rotator Oil Flow - Test".
