Introduction
Fusion couplers equipped with either the 361-2507 Hydraulic Cylinder Gp or the 364-2851 Hydraulic Cylinder Gp can experience hydraulic oil seepage or leaks. The leaks will be found at or around the plug. The leaks are cause by the improper installation of the relief valve within the valve block.ReferenceRefer to Service Magazine, SEPD1229 January, "New Cylinder Groups for the Horizontal Pin Lock and Fusion Couplers Prevent Oil Leaks ".Safety Section
Do not operate or work on this machine unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manuals. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Contact your Cat dealer for replacement manuals. Proper care is your responsibility.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.

(1) Cylinder assembly (2) Valve block (3) Plug (4) Relief valveAdjustment Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, or repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication,, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Product Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove the plug (3) that seals the valve cavity.
Using calipers, measure the distance from the block face to the top of the valve. The valve depth needs to be 17 0.5 mm (0.67 0.02 inch).
Illustration 3 g02415016
(2) Valve blockNote: Incorrect valve depth: Less than 17.0 mm (0.670 inch.)
If the distance does not fall in this range, then torque the valve (4) in further using a flat screwdriver. Do not exceed 11 N m (8 lb ft) of torque.

(2) Valve blockNote: Correct valve depth 17 0.5 mm (0.67 0.02 inch).
Repeat step 2 and step 3 until the valve (4) is at proper depth.
Once valve (4) passes the depth test, install the plug (3) back into the valve cavity. Torque the plug to the following based on plug
