Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Determine the type of drive wheel on your machine.
Two types of drive wheels are available: slotted cast drive wheel and drive wheel with 60 degree chevron. Determine the type of driver on the machine.Results
If you have a drive wheel with a 60 degree chevron, proceed to Step 2.
If you have a slotted cast drive wheel, proceed to Step 3.
Inspect the drive wheels.
Inspect the leading edge of the drive wheels. The leading edge of the drive wheels should be sharp. The leading edge of the drive wheels should not be rounded.
Make sure that there are no large segments of rubber missing.Results
If the drive wheels appear to be ok, proceed to Step 4.
Replace the drive wheel if the drive wheels appear to be not ok, or if the slippage between the belt and the drive wheel is a problem. Do not use a new 60 degree chevron drive wheel with a used rubber coated drive wheel that has a groove depth of less than 8 mm (0.31 inch). If you use a new drive wheel with a 60 degree chevron with a used drive wheel, you could have problems with alignment of the belt. If the slippage between the belt and the drive wheel is not a problem, the checking procedure can be stopped at this point.
Inspect the cast slotted driver.
Check the clearance of the scraper. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7072.Results
If the clearance is ok, proceed to Step 4.
If the clearance is not ok, adjust the scrapers. The troubleshooting process can be stopped at this point.
Check for other possible problems.
Verify that the belt tension is correct.
Make sure that you are using the correct drive wheel for the application. Slotted drive wheels should be used in areas that have conditions of high vegetation. Slotted drive wheels should be used in areas that have sloppy and/or muddy underfoot conditions. The drive wheel with a 60 degree chevron is adequate for most field conditions. Do not use the slotted drive wheel in scraper applications.Results
If the belt tension is not ok or the incorrect drive wheel is being used, adjust the belt tension or change the drive wheels, as required. The troubleshooting process can be stopped at this point.
