The steering system, fan system, and leveling blade system on the 500E-Series Vibratory Compactors remains mostly unchanged from the 500D-Series Vibratory Compactors. The function and location of all the components of the auxiliary system are identical to the function and location of all of the components that are on the previous model except for the blade valve and the hydraulic tank.This module describes the features, the location, and the operation of the following systems:
Steering system
Cooling fan system
Leveling blade systemThe hydraulic pump for the steering system, fan system, and leveling blade system on this machine share a common hydraulic tank with the propulsion and vibratory hydraulic systems. This hydraulic pump also provides charge oil to the propulsion hydraulic circuit.The hydraulic pump contains an integral pressure compensated priority valve as well as a relief valve. The load requirements of the steering circuit are transmitted to the priority valve through a load sensing line. The priority valve ensures that the steering control unit receives sufficient flow.After the requirements for the steering system have been satisfied, the priority valve directs the remaining flow to the fan motor. The fixed displacement fan motor operates the cooling fan. The motor contains an integral relief valve. Outlet oil from the fan motor is directed to the control valve for the leveling blade before being routed into the charge circuit for the propulsion hydraulic system.
