Remove Engine Front Support
1. Remove three nuts (5) that hold the engine front support to the support assembly. Remove the lower mounts, the sleeves and the collars.2. On 3412 Generator Sets, remove the four bolts that hold the engine front support to the base.3. Remove nuts (2), pulley (1), pulley (3) and damper (4). 4. Remove bolts (6), the lower mounts, the sleeves and the collars. Loosen bolts (7).5. On 3412 Generator Sets, remove the four bolts that hold the generator in place on the base. 6. Fasten tool (A) to the cylinder head as shown. Fasten a hoist to tool (A) and the lifting bracket on the other cylinder head.7. Lift the front of the engine enough so that blocks (8) can be installed under the oil pan as shown. Lower the engine down on to the blocks. The weight of the front end of the engine is approximately 1134 kg (2500 lb.). 8. Remove bolts (9) and engine front support (10). Remove three mounts (11).Install Engine Front Support
1. Put mounts (1) in position on the support assembly. Make sure the flat side of the mounts are up as shown. 3412 Generator Sets do not have mounts (1). 2. Install engine front support (2). 3. Install tool (A) on the cylinder head as shown. Fasten a hoist to tool (A) and to the lifting bracket on the other cylinder head. Lift the front of the engine and remove blocks (3) from under the oil pan. The weight of the front of the engine is approximately 1134 kg (2500 lb.). 4. Install bolt (4), sleeve (5), collar (6) and lower mount (7). Install the nut that holds the mounts in place. Tighten bolt (8).5. On 3412 Generator Sets, install the four bolts that hold the generator to the base. 6. Install damper (9), pulley (10), pulley (12) and nuts (11). Tighten nuts (11) to a torque of 136 14 N m (100 10 lb.ft.).7. Install sleeves (13), collars (14) and lower mounts (15). Install the nuts and bolts that hold them in place.8. On 3412 Generator Sets, install the four bolts that hold the front support to the base.
