Remove the four screws securing the engine control switch to the doorof the EIP. Working from the inside of the door, pull the switch centershaft free of the hole in the door.
Lay the relay group (1755042) over the existing harness on the insideof the EIP door. Locate the E-Stop block over the E-Stop switch and alignthe plate over the holes used for the Engine Control Switch in the EIPdoor. Orient the plate so the Engine Control Switch lies between the newrelays and the existing relay row (PECMR, SECMR, SDNR, etc).
See next photograph for key components.)
Remount the Engine Control Switch using the screws removed in a previousstep. Ensure the new plate is securely mounted to the inside of the door.
The arrow in next photograph shows direction to slide theplate for installation using the switch hardware.
Next photograph shows the relay group (arrow) installed onthe Engine Control Switch mounting screws.
If the EIP contains the ISDR, skip this step and proceed to the nextstep. If the EIP does not contain the ISDR, continue with this step. Locatethe push-on terminal lug with the conductor labeled "ISDR-30 ESLR-87" inthe rework harness. This terminal lug is intended for connection to pin87 of the E-Stop Lockout Relay. There are two leads exiting this terminallug. Cut the lead labeled "ISDR-30 ESLR-87" exiting from this terminallug. Cut the wire close to the terminal lug. This conductor will not beused because in this case, there is no ISDR. Remove this conductor fromthe rework harness bundle. Slide a 30-millimeter length of 9X8248 (or equivalent)heat shrink tubing over the end of the terminal lug and cover the exposedwire stub left by clipping the wire. Heat the tubing to form a tight insulationbarrier. Locate the conductor in the rework harness labeled "ES-8 ISDR-87."Disconnect the terminal lug from pin 8 of the new E-Stop Switch contact. The other end should be unconnected as it is intended for ISDR pin 87.Remove this conductor from the rework harness. Remove the terminal connectedto pin 1 of the E-Stop switch. The other end of this conductor is connectedto pin 86 of the PECM relay. Remove the terminal from pin 86 of this relay.Remove this entire conductor from the existing harness.
If the EIP does not contain the ISDR, skip this step. If the EIP containsthe ISDR, proceed with this step. Locate the ISDR and remove any terminallugs connected to pins 30 and 87 of the ISDR. Note the other end of theconductor connected to pin 30 of the ISDR is connected to pin 1 of theE-Stop button. Remove this terminal lug from pin 1 of the E-Stop button.Remove this conductor from the existing harness. Remove the terminal connectedto pin 87A of the ISDR. The other end of this conductor is connected topin 86 of the PECM relay. Disconnect the terminal from pin 86 of the PECMrelay as well as the terminal connected to pin 86 of the SECM relay. Removethis entire conductor from the existing harness. Connect the leads labeled"ES-8 ISDR-87" and "ISDR-30 ESLR-87" from the rework harness to
