Usage of the Accumulated Area Function
The Machine Performance Panel must be calibrated to the machine and the implement prior to using the following functions: total accumulated area and area per hour. The calibration is performed by use of the following steps:
Verify or set the width of the implement.
Verify or set the distance calibration factor.
Reset the total accumulated area to zero.The following procedure is necessary in order to calibrate the total accumulated area.Width of the Implement "b1" - In order for the Machine Performance Panel to correctly calculate the total hectares or acres, the width of the implement must be known. In order to set the width of the implement, use the following procedure:
Press the left touch pad for four seconds and release. A "dC1" should now be displayed.
Press the left touch pad repeatedly in order to scroll until "b1" is displayed.
Press the center touch pad once in order to display the current value for the width of the implement "b1". The width of the implement is measured in either meters or feet. The Machine Performance Panel is available in a metric version. Also, the Machine Performance Panel is available in US units.
If the width of the implement is correct, go to Step 7.
If the width of the implement is not correct, change the value by pressing the center touch pad. This will select the digit that needs to be changed. This digit should be flashing. Press the right touch pad in order to change the digit to the desired value.Note: If the center touch pad is held down for more than three seconds, the decimal point begins to cycle from the right to the left. This feature may be used in order to set the Machine Performance Panel for small implements or large implements.
Repeat Step 5 on all digits until the width of the implement is set.
Press the left touch pad in order to save the value.
Hold the left touch pad for four seconds in order to exit the calibration mode. The caret will return to the display. This indicates that the Machine Performance panel is back in the display mode.Distance Calibration Factor - This factor is used to calculate the following functions: machine ground speed, total accumulated area and area per hour. The following two methods can be used in order to set the distance calibration factor: Measured "dC1" and Calculated "dC2". Each method is described below. Only one method needs to be used. Either method will set both the "dC1" and "dC2" to the same values. This only needs to be done once, unless a new Machine Performance Panel is installed. Also, the installation or relocation of a ground speed sensor will require the distance calibration factor to be reset.The measured "dC1" method is the most accurate method in order to set the distance calibration factor.
