Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Follow Step 1.a through Step 1.c in order to install breather assembly (5).
Position breather assembly (5) onto inlet manifold (10).
Install bolts (9) to breather assembly (5). Support the breather assembly as the bolts are installed.
Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
If necessary, install a new canister (11). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Crankcase Breather (Canister) - Replace" for the correct procedure.

Ensure that hose (3) and hose (7) are free from damage and restriction. Replace any hose if damaged or restricted.
Install hose (7) to breather assembly (5). Ensure that the hose is correctly orientated.
Tighten hose clamp (6) securely.
Install a new cable strap (8) to hose (7). Note: Ensure that the cable straps meet the Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) specifications.
Install hose (3) to valve mechanism cover (1) and breather assembly (5).
Tighten hose clamp (2) and hose clamp (4) securely.
For a top mounted turbo engine, install the heat shield to valve mechanism cover (1).
