1. Remove four bolts (1) and rod (2) from the hydraulic track adjuster. 2. Remove hydraulic track adjuster (3) from the front pilot assembly of the recoil spring. 3. Remove O-ring seal (4) from the front pilot of the recoil spring.Install Hydraulic Track Adjusters
1. Install O-ring seal (1) in the front pilot assembly of the recoil spring. Put 1P808 General Purpose Lubricant on the O-ring seal. 2. Install hydraulic track adjuster (2) in the front pilot assembly of the recoil spring. 3. Put rod assembly (3) in position on the hydraulic track adjuster and install the bolts that hold it.END BY:a) install front idler supportsDisassemble Hydraulic Track Adjusters
START BY:a) remove hydraulic track adjusters 1. Remove seal and ring (3) from hydraulic track adjuster cylinder (5).2. Remove fill valve (1), relief valve (2) and washers from the cylinder.3. Remove piston assembly (4) from the cylinder. 4. Remove retainer ring (6) and seal (7) from piston (4). 5. Remove two rings (8) from the piston.Assemble Hydraulic Track Adjusters
1. Be sure all parts of the hydraulic track adjuster are clean before it is assembled. 2. Install two rings (2) on piston (1). 3. Install seal (3) on the piston with retainer ring (4). The seal lip must be toward the retainer ring. Put clean oil on the seal. 4. Install piston assembly in cylinder (5). 5. Install fill valve (6), relief valve (7) and washers on the cylinder. Tighten the valves to a torque of 25 5 lb. ft. (35 7 N m). 6. Install seal (8) and ring (9) on the hydraulic track adjuster. The chamfer on the ring must be toward the cylinder.
