Procedure To Correctly Assemble A New 3D9718 Switch Assembly And Provide A Moisture Resistant Installation
1. Remove the protective boot from the switch.2. If two locknuts are present, remove and discard one. Position the remaining locknut against the housing at the switch-end of the threaded bushing.3. Install the switch from the back side of the panel.4. Install the protective boot until a gentle resistance is felt as the internal thread seal contacts the face of the threaded bushing.5. Finger tighten the protective boot another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.6. Tighten the locknut on the back side of the panel to a torque of 18 2 N m (13 1 lb ft).7. Connect the appropriate wiring.
