Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Perform the following Steps for all three sections of the aftercooler:

Seals for the air outletsNote: Before you install the seals, lubricate the bores with glycerin.
Install new seals for the air outlets that are on the lower housing.

Note: Before you install the seal, lubricate the bore with glycerin.
Install new seal (30) for the joint that is between the aftercooler core and the lower housing.
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to aftercooler core (27). The weight of aftercooler core (27) is approximately 200 kg (440 lb). Lift the aftercooler core into position on the lower housing.
Install bolts (29) and the washers that connect aftercooler core (27) to the lower housing.
Install new seal (28) for the joint that is between the upper housing and the aftercooler core.
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to upper housing (25). The weight of upper housing (25) is approximately 100 kg (220 lb). Lift the upper housing into position on the aftercooler core.
Install bolts (26) and the washers that connect the upper housing to aftercooler core (27) .
Coat the threads of bolts (31) with Tooling (B). Install the bolts and washers.

Note: Before you install the seal, lubricate the bore with glycerin.
Install a new seal for the joint between the lower housing and the cylinder block.

Note:
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the front section of aftercooler (24). The weight of the sections of aftercooler (24) are approximately 500 kg (1100 lb).
Lift the front section of the aftercooler into position on the cylinder block.

Install bolts (23) and the washers that connect the bottom housing of the aftercooler to the cylinder block.

Seals in the upper center housing of the aftercoolerNote: Before you install the center section, install new seals for the upper housing.
Perform Steps 2 through 6 for the center section of the aftercooler and for the rear section of the aftercooler.

Note: Install new seals for the joints. Before you install the seals, lubricate the bores with glycerin.
Work from the rear of the engine toward the front of the engine. Install all clamps (20), couplings (21), and tubes (22) on the right side of the engine.

Install clamps (18) and bellows (19) between the upper front housing and the upper center housing of the aftercooler.
Install the clamps and bellows between the upper center housing and the upper rear housing of the aftercooler.

Slide tube (16) and flange (17) toward the air inlet of the cylinder head. Install bolts (15) and the washers in order to connect the flange to the air inlet of the cylinder head.
Perform Step 10 for each cylinder head.Note: The exhaust bypass must be supported or removed. The weight
