G3500 Family AllDescription of Change: Changes have been made in order to increase the capability to seal oil at the junction of the cylinder block and the flywheel housing on 3500 and G3500 Engines. A counterbore has been added to six holes in the cylinder block. Longer bolts are used in order to increase the initial bolt stretch. Refer to Illustration 1.The gasket between the cylinder block and the flywheel housing has been eliminated. An anaerobic sealant is being used to seal the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. A thickness of 0.7 mm (0.0276 inch) has been added to the flywheel housing. This thickness offsets the thickness of the old gasket.Adaptable To: The changes are adaptable to all 3500 and G3500 Engines. Table 1 lists the serial number effectivity for the changes that were made to the cylinder block. Table 2 lists the serial number effectivity for the changes that were made to the flywheel housing.
