Improper routingcan cause fouling of the Battery-to-Starter Cable against other lines,causing failure of the Cable/Lines. Hard fouling of the lines and/or BatteryCable may result in damage to either, which could result in loss of fluids(possible damage to components from that loss) and/or loss of startingcapability. Loss of fluids within the Engine Enclosure could cause a potentialfor fire with the potential for severe injury of death. A new cable needsto be installed on the products listed below. You will not be charged forthe service performed.Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediatelyto schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time requiredto complete this service. Inspect the Cable Assembly and Lines Groups, whichmay be in contact with each other. Reroute the Fuel Line and Battery Cable,as shown in Illustration 1, so that all Lines/Cables avoid contact witheach other. Replace defective Lines/Cables, as necessary. It is also importantthat the Cable be assembled with the correct angle indicated in Illustration4.
Note: The new cables have green tape, whichindicate clip locations.

Add 6D4636 Clip as shown in Illustration 2.

Remove the 2057299 Clips and replace with 9M8406P-clips, 6B6205 Spacer, 8T4121 Washer and 8T6466 Bolt as shown in Illustration3.
