With conveyor bar (1) on sprocket (2) in the place, the conveyor chain must be within the specification 12 mm to 20 mm (0.5 inch to 0.8 inch) between the conveyor chain and the rollers of the footshaft. If the conveyor chain is not within the specification, then the conveyor chain needs adjustment.

Lift hinged cover plate (3) at the front of the conveyor chain in order to gain access to the front takeup shaft assembly. Remove pin (4) from adjusting rod (5). Remove adjusting rod (5) from front takeup shaft (6) and front takeup shaft (7) .Note: Loosen adjusting rod (5) by approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn in order to provide a drop of approximately 12 to 20 mm (0.5 to 0.8 inch) between the drag bars and the rollers of the footshaft.

Insert the adjusting rod (5) into the holes of front takeup shaft (7) in order to adjust the conveyor chain. Turn front takeup shaft (7) counterclockwise in order to tighten the conveyor chain within the specification 12 to 20 mm (0.5 to 0.8 inch) and turn front takeup shaft (7) clockwise in order to loosen the conveyor chain within the specification 12 to 20 mm (0.5 to 0.8 inch).
After the adjustment of the conveyor chain is complete, repeat Step 5 for front takeup shaft (6) .
Install adjusting rod (5) into front takeup shaft (6) and front takeup shaft (7). Install pin (5) into adjusting rod (5). Lower the hinged cover plate at the front of the conveyor chain.
Repeat Step 2 through Step 7 for the left side of the conveyor chain.
