Check the travel route for overpass clearances. Be sure that there will be enough clearance if the machine is equipped with a ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) or cab.Block the trailer or flatcar wheels before loading the machine. Remove ice, snow or slippery material from the loading dock and trailer or flatcar before loading.
1. Lower the scraper bowl. 2. Pull the button to apply the parking brake.3. Stop the engine. Turn off the disconnect switch and remove the key. 4. Open the three air reservoir drains. Allow the air to drain. Close the drains.5. Block the tires and secure the machine with tie downs.
Protect the cooling system, with antifreeze, to the lowest expected outside temperature. Or, drain the cooling system completely.Install and lock all vandalism guards, covers, and caps.Cover the operator's seat, or close and lock all cab doors.Remove the ether bottle before shipping the machine.
Use the proper tire pressure when shipping the machine. Use the chart below or consult your tire dealer, for shipping pressures.
Consult your tire dealer for the correct tire pressures to use when the machine is put into operation.
Roading
1. TON-MPH limitations of the tires must be observed. Consult your tire dealer for the speed limit of the tires involved.2. Bring the coolant, oil in all compartments, and fuel to proper levels.3. Clean the windshield, and the side and rear glass. Clean all lights and reflectors.4. Make sure all headlights, taillights, turn signals and hazard warning lights function properly.5. Have a fire extinguisher, flares and reflectors with the machine.6. If it is necessary to leave machine unattended: a. Lower all equipment.b. Neutralize the transmission and apply the transmission lock.c. Set the parking brake.d. Stop the engine. Turn OFF the disconnect switch and remove the key.e. Install and lock all vandalism guards, covers and caps. If equipped with a cab, close and lock the cab door and windows.f. At night set out flares and/or reflectors.
