Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Attach a suitable lifting device to cover assembly (3). The weight of the cover assembly is approximately 24.65 kg (54 lb).
Remove 52 bolts (1) and remove four plates (2).
Remove cover (3).

Remove bolts (4) and remove retaining ring (5).Note: Discard all gaskets and retaining hardware. These parts are one time use only.

Install Tooling (A) to brackets (7) and attach a suitable lifting device. The catalysts weigh approximately 24kg (53lb).
Remove the outer catalyst (8).
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the inner catalyst.Installation Procedure
Install catalyst (SCR) in reverse order of removal.

Install rear seal (B) between tube (A) and first catalyst assembly (C).

Install front catalyst seal (F) onto the first catalyst assembly (G).
Install second catalyst assembly (E).

Hand tighten bolts (4) in sequence shown to a torque of 10 2 N m (7 1 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (4) in sequence shown to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).Note: Use dowels when installing cover assembly (2) and (3) to aid with alignment of the cover.Note: Tighten cover bolts (1) starting in the middle and working towards the corner.
