Moving and Stopping Machine
Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury.Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Do not shift the transmission to NEUTRAL and allow the machine to coast.Moving Machine
Machine is designed to operate most efficiently in Gears 2 through 6. Sustained operation at full load in 1st gear on 65C/75C/85C may shorten power train life.
1. Raise all lowered implements enough to clear any obstructions before moving. 2. Push down on inching clutch pedal (1) and service brake pedal (2).3. Release the parking brake.4. Move the governor control lever to the desired engine speed.5. Move the transmission control lever to the desired direction and speed (up to 7th gear in FORWARD). Gears 8-10 do not engage when starting from a complete stop. Line up the front of the lever with the white mark on the panel in forward direction, and the rear of the lever in reverse direction.6. Release the brake pedal.7. Slowly release inching clutch pedal to engage clutch and to allow the machine to move.
Do not use inching clutch or brake pedals as foot rests to avoid early wear or damage to machine parts.
Directional Changes (Forward to Reverse)
For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, reduce engine speed and bring machine to a complete stop when changing directions.1. Pull the governor control lever back down to decrease engine speed.2. Push the brake pedal down or downshift transmission lever to slow the machine travel speed.3. Push the inching clutch pedal down to disengage the clutch.4. Push the brake pedal down all the way to stop the machine.5. Move the transmission control lever to the desired direction and speed.6. Release the brake pedal.7. Release the inching clutch pedal slowly to engage clutch. The machine now moves.8. Push forward on the governor control lever to desired engine speed.Speed Changes
Speed changes are made by moving the transmission control lever from one speed to another. Use of the inching clutch is not needed for speed changes. When operation requires less than full load, shift to a higher gear and use the governor control lever to reduce engine rpm. This reduces engine wear and maximize fuel economy. It also improves operator comfort by reducing the noise level in the operator's compartment. This technique can not be used if draft control is used on a three-point hitch implement. Full rpm is necessary to activate this feature.Use the following chart to help choose the best gear range and engine rpm for your operation. The chart is located in the operator's compartment on the right side console in front of the governor control lever.Challenger 65C/70C/75C

Machine Operational Considerations
Front Counterweights - The amount of counterweight should be minimized to the amount needed to establish a reasonable machine balance. Counterweight should not be used to compensate for excessive rear weight or for hitches extending to the rear of the machine.Because of extra weight on the machine, careful attention should be given to the inflation pressure
