Information:
controlled throttle shifting function is used in order to smooth shifting and in order to reduce driveline stress during automatic transmission shifts. The Power Train/Chassis Electronic Control Module (ECM) sends a signal to the Engine Electronic Control Module (Engine ECM) through the CAT Data Link during each transmission shift. The signal will reduce the fuel flow or the signal will increase the fuel flow. This will reduce the torque during a shift. During automatic upshifts, the ECM sends a signal to the Engine ECM. The signal is used to momentarily reduce the “Desired Engine Speed”.During automatic downshifts, the ECM sends a signal to the Engine ECM. The signal is used to momentarily increase the “Desired Engine Speed”.The controlled throttle shifting function is cancelled when any of the following conditions are true.
The retarder is active.
The service brake is active.
The parking brake is active.
The transmission hold is active.
The retarder is active.
The service brake is active.
The parking brake is active.
The transmission hold is active.
