Machines equipped with 389-2345 Pulley Gp have reported failures with 9L-0894 V-Belt. The V-Belt failures are reported as excessive noise or premature wear or failure. The root cause is under investigation. Symptoms of failure include noise from belt area, rubber dust around belt area, and belt failure resulting in low battery voltage error codes and alarms.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this issue. If failure occurs, replace with existing parts and follow storage and maintenance procedures outlines in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. No repeat belt failures have occurred after replacement with new parts.
