Perform the following:
Install adapters (C) and (D) at location (5).
Attach flow meter (B) to the adapters.
Connect flow meter (B) to viewing tool (A).Ensure that viewing tool (A) is visible from the cab.
Start the machine.
Before testing the All Wheel Drive system (AWD), warm the oil to 50 °C to 60 °C (122 °F to 140 °F).
Set the engine speed to high idle.
Engage the parking brake.
Ensure that the AWD system is OFF.
Check the flow from each motor case. The flow should be 4 1 L/min (1.1 0.3 US gpm).
If the flow is less than 3 L/min (0.8 US gpm), perform the following steps:
Check for low charge pressure.
Replace the relief valve in the motor.
Replace the motor. The flushing valve is integrated in the motor. The flushing valve is not serviceable separately.
If the flow is greater than 5 L/min (1.3 US gpm), perform the following steps:
Check for high charge pressure.
Replace the relief valve in the motor.
Replace the motor. The flushing valve is integrated in the motor. The flushing valve is not serviceable separately.
With the engine at high idle, turn the AWD system to "CREEP" mode.
Slowly move the machine in the forward direction.
Stall the front wheels. Use the following items in order to stall the front wheels:
The service brakes
A steep slope
A stationary object
The flushing flow from each motor should be approximately 10 2 L/min (2.6 0.5 US gpm).
If the flow is less than 8 L/min (2.1 US gpm), perform the following steps:
Check for low charge pressure.
Replace the relief valve in the motor.
Replace the motor. The flushing valve is integrated in the motor. The flushing valve is not serviceable separately.
If the flow is greater than 12 L/min (3.2 US gpm), perform the following steps:
Check for high charge pressure.
Replace the relief valve in the motor.
Replace the motor. The flushing valve is integrated in the motor. The flushing valve is not serviceable separately.
Shut down the machine.
Remove all tooling.
Reconnect all connections that were broken for the test. Test of the Motor Case Pressure
Note: Do not perform this test if the flow meters from the previous test are installed. The flow meters add additional restriction. The flow meters will raise the pressure above specifications.
